Flametree Wines Margaret River has sought to become a world recognised winery, producing wines of exceptional quality and consistency and after 9 short years we believe we are well on the way to achieving this goal.
Our very first vintage produced the 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot which won the prestigious Jimmy Watson Memorial Trophy for the best red wine in Australia for the 2007 vintage. And Flametree Wines followed this up with the 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot also being a Jimmy Watson finalist.
Since this auspicious beginning, Flametree Wines has continued to produce wines that rank amongst the best in the country.
Our flagship Chardonnay, the SRS Wallcliffe Chardonnay has proven to be a consistent performer since 2010. This truly remarkable example of Margaret River Chardonnay has won:
This wine has never rated lower than a 95 from James Halliday since 2010 and achieved an incredible 97 Points at the 2015 James Halliday Chardonnay Challenge.
2016 also saw Flametree Wines add another Trophy to our cabinet for Best Rose at the Royal Melbourne Wine Awards for our Pinot Rose 2016. We are blessed with two incredible winemakers who have achieved so many rave reviews across a range of varieties and have continued to push the bar as to what is possible from the Margaret River wine region.
Our Sauvignon Blanc Semillon has been a consistent performer since 2009. In 2009 this wine won the trophy at the Margaret River Regional Wine Show for Best Blend of Semillon Sauvignon Blanc. Over the following years the SBS has picked up 2 more Gold medals and 3 Silver medals including the recent Gold medal at the Margaret River Wine Show 2016.
At the top end of our range we have the stunning SRS Wilyabrup Cabernet Sauvignon a wine that James Halliday classifies as "Bankable quality". The Cabernet Sauvignon won Gold at the 2013 Decanter World Wine Awards and has followed this up with another Gold this year at the Perth Royal Wine Show.
