Two stunning reds from 2014

Our two 2014 vintage red wines continue to impress the judges with recent reviews in Decanter Magazine, Gourmet Traveller Wine and the Herald Sun's Taste feature.

SRS Wilyabrup Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

The April 2017 edition of Decanter Magazine had a review of the 35 Top New World Cabernets, with our 2014 SRS Wilyabrup Cabernet Sauvignon coming in at number 20:

“With its ripe plum confit nose, this is juicy and warming. Dark chocolate surrounds a black cherry core and is underscored by a sinewy, muscular, tannic grip. This certainly shows potential for longevity. Drink 2017-2025.”

Gourmet Traveller Wine has just released its April edition with a comprehensive Tastings section and the SRS Wilyabrup Cabernet Sauvignon 2014 was reviewed by Jeremy Oliver:

"Classically elegant Margaret River cabernet scented with heady aromas of red and blue flowers, small black and red berries, fresh chocolate/cedar/vanilla oak and suggestions of dried herbs and menthol. It's long, polished and fine-grained with pristine flavours of small berries, cherry and plum knit with tight grained new oak and a fine, drying backbone of crunchy tannins. Finishing with smoothness, style and some earthy complexity, it will live and develop for a decade or two."

Flametree Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot 2014

Jane Thomson, founder of the incredible Fabulous Ladies' Wine Society wrote recently in the Herald Sun's Taste feature:

"Flametree won the Jimmy Watson Trophy for the 2007 vintage of this very wine - the first red they ever released. The following year, the 2008 vintage was also a finalist. They're calling 2014 a near perfect vintage in Margaret River and it shows. This Bordeaux-style blend is intense, concentrated dark fruit with great structure, seamless integration and fine tannins. Wonderful drinking.”
