The West Australian has published its annual Top 100 Red Wines for under $40. Ray Jordan has rated over 650 wines from throughout Australia and has confirmed that "the quality and value for money being offered are remarkable."
Flametree Wines performed exceptionally well, with a place in the Best Reds between $15-$20 and also a place in the $25-$40 category.
In the $15-$20 category our 2015 Embers Cabernet Sauvignon performed very well. Ray noted "No mistaking this is Margaret River cabernet. What a mighty good wine for an entry level. Blows me away with those red berry and blackberry nuances on the nose and a layer of expertly applied oak complementing the juicy ripe palate. Delicious plummy fruit fills the middle palate brilliantly. Gosh, this is good value. 92/100"
In the $25-$40 category our 2014 Flametree Cabernet Merlot was a stand out. Ray noted "Exotic spices and perfumes on the nose herald this excellent classy wine. Loads of blackberry and coffee grinds on the nose. Dense palate with a balanced dry finish. 94/100"
