Flametree Frankland River Shiraz 2009
The fruit for the 2009 Shiraz was sourced from Frankland River. Cool fermentation was followed by two weeks on skins to allow for better tannin integration. Maturation was 12 months in new and older French and American oak. The wine was then egg white fined and bottled in June 2010.
This year’s shiraz shows fruit flavours in the plum, cherry, liquorice and spice spectrum. The 2009 Flametree Shiraz is riper than last years 2008 vintage. This wine is wonderfully fragrant with a bouquet of plum, cherry and spicy blueberry. A generous, fruit driven palate of berries and liquorice follows soft velvety tannins.
