Flametree Zinfandel 2009
WINEMAKING NOTES
This late picked Zinfandel was picked very ripe, fermented in a small open pot and then transferred to older French oak. Maturation was for 12 months before being lightly fined and bottled in June 2010.
TASTING NOTES
Ripe plums and fruitcake with a very ripe, almost fortified nose. Classic raisins, redcurrants and fruitcake dominate the palate. Made in a Californian style, a small amount of sugar has been retained in this wine. The focus is very much on fruit, the result being a very soft palate. Made to drink as a young wine whilst the fruit flavours are still fresh and primary.
BLEND
